Past Festivals: 2005

Over 110 short films representing nearly 30 countries were screened over the course of one week in September in New York City. 

Director screenings featuring Lodge Kerrigan (Keane, Claire Dolan, Clean, Shaven) and Todd Solondz (Palindromes, Storytelling, Happiness, Welcome to the Dollhouse), as well as workshops with editor Jay Rabinowitz (Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, Coffee & Cigarettes, Affliction, Requiem for a Dream, 8 Mile, and The Fountain) and screenwriter and Tisch School of the Arts faculty member Sheldon Woodbury (Cool Million: How to Become a Million-Dollar Screenwriter) took place between September 25 and October 1.

Participants also attended panel discussions focusing on Making Your First Feature Film with Michael Burke (director, The Mudge Boy), Susan Carnival (writer and producer, Chutney Popcorn), Kevin Jordan (writer and producer Brooklyn Lobster, Goat on Fire and Smiling Fish), Christina DeHaven (producer My Uncle Berns) and Nicholas Jarecki (director and producer, The Outsider) and the Tribeca Film Festival-led panel on Using Your Short Film to Achieve Your Career Goals with John Moser (Showtime Networks), Kelly DeVine (IFC), Arianna Bocco (Gersh Agency) and David Kwok (Tribeca Film Festival), as well as a lecture presentation by director David Lynch (Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks ) entitled Filmmaking and Consciousness Through Transcendental Meditation.

Winners

The Tisch School of the Arts presented awards to international film directors at the closing night ceremony on October 1, 2005, at the Cantor Film Center.
